Engaging New Hires into your Culture

Boost Rewards New Hire Kit

Here at Boost Rewards, we are always thinking and then rethinking about how to improve our culture (after all, we’re recognition experts). Over the past few years, we formed a dedicated Culture team who helped develop a brand name for our culture, defined a logo, put on an endless amount of events and parties, and helped make this somewhere we like to think is a “best place to work”.

So, where to begin? We surveyed our current employees many times and made action items and goals based on their feedback (i.e., update our Rock Star of the Quarter award choices, an added day of summer PTO, even renovate the restrooms!). One area where we saw room for improvement was in our new hire on-boarding process. We needed a consistent process where all employees are welcomed in the same manner, hear the history of our company and how the company has evolved, and trained on our internal systems (like our online recognition program) in the same way.Boost Rewards Swag Bag

We looked to our promotional products distributor affiliate, Shumsky, to source and distribute our new hire kits, or “swag bags” that includes a branded beach towel, a custom journal book that outlines our mission and vision statement, a logoed shirt, rockstar amp/radio, lanyard, and personalized license plate. The license plates are hung at each desk which also makes it easier for new hires to learn names.

We asked two of our newest employees about why they decided to work at Boost Rewards:

Andrea Bossler: Andrea Bossler

Great company, great people, great work! These are the things I look for in a job, and I definitely got all of them working for Boost Engagement, LLC (formerly Boost Technologies). It is a company that you can grow within. I’m grateful to be part of such a great team!

Corey Henningsen:Corey Henningsen

I am very excited to be working for Boost Rewards for many reasons. The Boost team is comprised of passionate and enthusiastic individuals that make work a pleasure. It’s also a very rewarding job because you get to help companies better their employee relations through engagement and positive work culture. So, not only do I get to enjoy a healthy work culture, I get to help other people achieve the same through Boost Rewards.
